She was fantastic at teaching us about our microbiome, Lush’s approach to skincare, and, of course, helping us to make the Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser. It was such a fun workshop, this one was completely free, we all got to take home our own cleanser that we made, and I met some lovely people there! 🫶 First we learnt all about our microbiome. It’s a community of over 1 million microorganisms, consisting of bacteria, fungi and viruses that live naturally on our skin! What’s most important is that our microbiome is our skin’s first line of defence against harmful external factors. Lush understands the importance of protecting the skins microbiome through creating self-preserving products where possible, minimising additional additives and preservatives. However, this does create the shorter shelf life on fresh products. Close to 90% of Lush products are self-preserving! Fantastic! Product making: 1. Glycerine - great for rehydration. Made from organically sourced rapeseed oil. 2. Lavender and Chamomile Blue Essential Oils support naturally produced sebum in the skin. 3. Kaolin Clay - helping to make a paste that gently buffs the skin. 4. Ground almonds for gentle exfoliation. 30% of this product is made up of ground almonds. This fresh product will last me 30 days.
